Validus Underwriting Risk Services Inc (VURS) is a licensed New York excess lines broker and an approved Lloyd's coverholder. Our core market is USA Domiciled Companies, including Global Operations.  VURS specialises in the Global Technical Lines (Onshore Energy) portfolio.

VURS will place property insurance including the following occupancies:

• Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals (including onshore oil & gas production, refining, downstream petrochemicals and related hydrocarbon assets)
• Chemical (including inorganic chemicals, finished plastic manufacturing and pharmaceuticals)
• Power Generation & Utilities (including power generation and sewage/wastewater treatment)
• Process Industries (including primary metal industries, pulp & paper, other manufacturing industries and mining)

Coverage will include machinery breakdown.

VURS are able to place other coverages such as Property, Offshore Energy and Terrorism.

Risk Engineering is an integral part of the “Energy Insurance” business model. The team is supported by expert engineers who provide services for our North American clients.

We have attracted an experienced team of proven leaders within our chosen market sectors and will bind risks on behalf of Talbot Underwriting Ltd through its Lloyd’s Syndicate 1183.

Coverage limits of up to US$75,000,000 per risk are potentially available and higher limits may be available over time. The business intends to establish mutually beneficial long-term relationships by offering a flexible and responsive service for both our Brokers and Clients.
